Jessica Simpson Candi Pumps

It's about 92 degrees out today. Sundress and huge hair clip time.

Thanks to a Macy's gift card from graduation, I picked up amazing new pumps.

Ladies and Gentlemen, my first pair of Jessica Simpson shoes.

The Candi Pumps.

They're unbelievably comfortable, even though they're skyscraper tall. Okay, not that tall, but taller than any of the flats I've been wearing lately.

Speaking of which...

I'm guilty of wearing these Target flats from last year every time I want comfort over style. I can't help it. They're the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I can slip them on without the hassle of lacing up or buckling myself in. They're falling apart, but come on, they're leopard and easy breezy, though not that beautiful!

This video is the perfect blend of childhood girly girl and vixen.

Lace Shoulder Shirt

It's truly official-- I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to computers. My internet connection decided it didn't want to work anymore, so I was stuck without wireless access for a two days. Luckily everything works now after a few phone calls and a repair guy.

Though I have no Memorial Day traditions, it seems I'll be house hopping this weekend. I've noticed I'm really into lace detailing and acid wash or destroyed denim. Girly girl meets grunge? Oh yes, please.

And yes, three lace pieces, two destroyed denim items, and a bandeau bra are all necessary for three days. You don't even want to look in my makeup bag.

It's 90 degrees outside, and I'm catching up on some reading.

Aviators and Red Lipstick

Just a quickie update today.

Thank you to everyone who replied on the last post! I'm going to keep a good balance of artsy photos and straight on shots. I will, of course, be getting back to every single person who took the time to comment come Monday.

My graduation party was today, and I swear it to you, fellow fashion addicts, I am going to SAVE the money I received. Seriously, I an opening a savings account just for the money. I'm having success maintaining my self control concerning shopping-- it just takes a lot of willpower and avoiding places like Target and Forever 21.

Aviators-- always classy and always a little rocker. My lipstick needs a touchup in this photo [that's what I get for trying to eat a veggie wrap with lip color on], but I'm sort of liking the slight ombre effect of the colors.

Free Form Top

I'm loving this H&M top. It's huge and breezy with a fantastic free form slouch. The sleeves are so open that I can see my hips when I position my arms a certain way. It's kind of odd to be able to feel my waist and hips when my arms are by my sides, but hey, it's kind of refreshing and a little bit taboo.

The color is a mix of purple and grey, and anything with a tint of grey has my heart.

ETA:

I'm still trying to develop my blogging 'outfit photo style.' Normally I prefer to do straight on very simple shots. But sometimes the lighting doesn't allow it, and I end up doing a little bit more playing around while editing the photo.

What do you prefer in general? Do you like very simple outfit shots? Or do you like some 'artsy' [excuse the term] photos once in a while?

Sometimes I feel the artsy shots convey a mood, but I also think straight on shots display the elements of the outfit better.

Nature in the City

Last week, I was out grabbing dinner with my fella when I noticed the color of the sky through the windows. It was beautiful. The sun was setting so quickly that the colors in the atmosphere were changing with every second.

I only took a few shots in the dimming light, and I didn't want the flash of the camera to ruin the absolutely beautiful coloring of the twilight.

I love this second shot so much. The neon glow of the cross is so... Vegas to me. Neon crosses seem almost sacrilegious, like they're too flashy, but that's what I love about them. They're so vibrant and irreverent.

Christopher Kane came to mind. His work with atmosphere and light is simply gorgeous.

I wish I could have grabbed some pieces from his Topshop collection because his other pieces, although gorgeous, are way out of my price range.

It was refreshing to find inspiration in nature, even in the middle of the city.

Sequin Kitten Top H&M

After a few days of staying with my sister, I'm back home.

My car is repaired and I had an opportunity to get a little shopping done.

H&M was stocked with a ton of summer clothing. Stripes seem to be a huge thing for H&M this year, like they're the finishing touch for any garment. Sequined stripes, strong shoulder shirts with stripes, tunics and rompers with bold stripes. Stripes transform any seemingly simple outfit into a chic ensemble.

I used to have a very strong attraction to stripes, but after collecting a closet packed with horizontal lines, I've learned to tone it down and get my stripe on only when I fall in love with a piece.

One of my finds is something so ridiculous I couldn't pass it up. No stripes, either!

Excuse the club kid feel of these photos! It's a sequined kitten shirt, and yes, I bought the top a few sizes bigger than my real size. I love the slouchy tunic feel of this.

Here are some photos of the Justin Romper boots I just scored.

One of the amazing things about these boots is that when scratched, a rich shade of cherry is exposed. I feel like these boots are one of those items that will only look better and better with time.

Hello Kitty and Bubble Jumpers

Day two of hanging out at my sister's house thanks to car repairs.

Some new goodies!

Excuse the high contrast. I'm using my sister's Windows computer, so the screen is a little different than what I'm used to.

Hello Kitty tote bag with a matching mini pouch. And a Hello Kitty contact case. Who thinks of this stuff?!

It's kind of fun to make due with only what I have on me concerning styling. I'm pretty spoiled normally, with bags and bags of makeup and drawers full of clothes. Since I'm staying at Lauren's, I get to play around with her makeup and clothing. It's funny because we've always worn the same size clothing, yet things fit me differently. I have more curves, so tops tend to be especially frustrating when we're trying to share.

Lauren said I could borrow her clothing, so I picked a pink bunny tank and a bubble jumper that I actually gave her because I somehow managed to get two of them. The mint triangle bra from AA made for some nice detailing around the neck.

I scored these amazing chocolate cherry Justin Romper boots on Ebay for $10! I'm in love with them.

Misfits Fashion

Recently, I've noticed an influx in Misfits t-shirts. This uprising revives my former punk- the angst ridden teenager trying to go against the grain while looking half rough and tumble and the other half strangely elegant.

This takes me back to the days of rainbow hair, chucks, all black ensembles, and loads of skulls. I firmly believe that once anyone develops an affinity for punk- whether it be the lifestyle, the music, or the fashion, something always remains inside. It's a dormant desire, but it absolutely stays with someone and resurfaces even in the smallest ways.

I'm a sucker for skulls, gothic crosses, tight pants, and lace up boots. My guess is that I always will have a weak spots for these things.

*I'm without my usual computer and camera for a few days. For now, please bear with me! All of the comments and participation mean a ton to me, so I will absolutely get back to everyone in a few days.*

Asos Skull Top and Retail Me Not

For months, I've been lusting after this top, hoping Asos will magically put it on sale before it sells out.

Luck is probably not on my side.

Thanks to my fella, who crafted this collage for me!

If anyone has a secret Asos coupon, let me know. I'm really familiar with coupon hunting online. RetailMeNot is the holy grail of secret shopping coupons.

It's like a little game to me. Even if I have no intention of buying something, I'll put it in my shopping cart and then go about combining offers and coupons on the checkout page. My greatest achievement so far has been free shipping and 20% off from Karmaloop.

As usual, catching up on comments starting Monday.

Flannel Repeat

This shirt has already made an appearance on my blog, but it's the perfect spring shirt-- billowy, light, and drapey.

It's been raining every single day, and today permitted a window of sunshine.

And fellow fashion addicts, you would be so proud of me. I went into American Apparel and Urban Outfitters without buying anything.

I'm thinking about starting up a small shop selling vintage pieces or other sorts of fashion including everything from shoes to jewelry. If I decide to go through with the project, I will keep everyone updated!

Faux Leather Thigh Highs

After a full year of never using these faux leather leggings, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create some thigh highs.

OPI Shrek Polish and Xanadu Wedges

I've got to catch up on my magazine reading. All of my magazines are delivered to my parents' house, so I get them a little later than usual.

Beauty Products:
-Paul Mitchell Extra Body. The product has been mentioned so many times on my blog. I love it. It's perfect for teasing or adding that second day dirty hair texture instantly.
-OPI You Don't Know Jacques. Oddly enough, I went to three beauty stores to find this after passing it up several times last year. No one had it. Then Ulta, which was the first place I checked, had a ton of them.
-OPI Ogre-The-Top Blue from the Shrek collection. What a weird collaboration. Anyways, all of the colors are super fun and bright, so I'm on board.
-Almay Clear Complexion Foundation is my go-to foundation. It's perfect for every season and blends beautifully.

Nasty Gal introduced some new wedges.

Jeffrey Campbell Front Canvas Wedge

Jeffrey Campbell Xanadu Wedge

Now, as we all know, I'm a sucker for wedges. I can see myself wearing the Front Canvas Wedges more than the Xanadu Wedges. The Xanadu's are a little too space rocker, even for me. Though I'm excited to see who is going to scoop them up and really show off how extreme they are!

Chictopia Payless Controversy

IFB just posted a really interesting article on the controversy regarding Chictopia giving Payless the rights to host photos in a style gallery.

Read up and know your rights!

It worries me that a lot of people, including myself, mindlessly agree to Terms of Service without reading or comprehending all of the conditions.
