Feeling a little shy lately

It's here! It's here. Santa is real.

So is my credit card statement.

Apparently, I have found solace in hiding behind my hair as of late.

Alexander Wang Kirsten Satchel

When I visited New York and made the necessary pilgrimage to the Alexander Wang flagship store, I make a point to pay homage to the Kirsten Satchel. I remember thinking, "This beauty will never be mine!"

Well, thanks for a sweet sale from official Alexander Wang site (and a promise from the boyfriend to help pay for it in the name of Christmas), this lovely piece of work is sitting in a delivery box at my house just waiting to be unwrapped.

From the badass straps to the fine suede, oh, Kirsten, why are you such a babe?

Alexander Wang Addison Boot

Oh, Lord, now this is happening.

Behold, the Alexander Wang Addison boot. Standing at about 6 inches tall, I do declare I'll be towering, but hopefully not teetering.

It's going to be a good Christmas.

Easy Sweater - American Apparel

Getting cozy in American Apparel's Unisex Reversible Easy Sweater.

I couldn't decide what to buy with my recent Groupon purchase, so with winter just around the corner, this seemed like a sensible purchase. The verdict? This sweater is like a blanket, and it's an easy option that boasts an oh-so-Acne vibe. (And it's reversible. Does this justify wearing it a few days in a row?)

Ran Magazine Issue 14

It's safe to say every fashion fanatic dreams of gracing the cover of a magazine. Who knew that dream would come true for me?

Yes, my friends, I am a cover girl.

Thanks to my friend and extremely talented artist, Chad Edwards, the cover for Ran Magazine features his mind-blowing work and yours truly. Ran can be found in Nagoya, Japan.

Chad asked me to style an outfit worthy of Japan's own eclectic street fashion and then hopped over to photograph me for inspiration. The result? This stunner of a cover!

Ran Magazine

Does Chad's style look familiar? You may recognize him from this piece. If you need more badass Chad-ery in your life, check out his blog.

Appear on a cover of a magazine? Yup, I can check that off of my bucket list.

Thanks to you, Chad!

Webcam Green Machine

Apologies for the webcam shots. It's dark by 3:30 p.m. here, and I can't help but hibernate like the rest of the Midwest.

Rocking lipstick by Covergirl Lip Perfection in Fervor. I can't believe how good this line is. There are a few misses, but I can attest to the staying power of the majority of the colors.

Rooney Mara - Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Style

Oh no, I'm already completely in love with the styling Rooney Mara is rocking in her upcoming flick Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

I even like her off-screen style. Granted, she was probably getting into character.

Not to mention, H&M is basically going to be offering a new wardrobe inspired by the movie.

Only in my world does the purchase of a hot pink biker jacket in the middle of summer make sense.

Fashion Illustration

You're not an official fashion blogger until you've had your first fashion illustration. That cherry, my friends, has been popped.

Chad Edwards, an extremely talented artist, along with the fashionable Michelle Williamson, of Wasted Wardrobe, teamed up to create this piece.

Michelle styled the shoot, while Chad took photos and then created the piece with a good mix of imagination and skill.

I get to wear faux fur AND hang with a polar bear? I'm so there.

Thank you, Chad and Michelle!

Summer Chic Inspiration

Now this is how to dress in the heat without sacrificing badass style. Granted, I would never survive in 80+ degree weather, but on the cooler days? Totally doable.

Jeffrey Campbell - The Ours Boot

You know that feeling you experience when you see something sorta strange, but edgy and interesting at the same time? That's how I felt about the Jeffrey Campbell 'The Ours Boot.'

It's two-toned with a geometric heel- a little odd, but it's that odd quality that generates a reaction from just about everyone. I bought them on a whim for a gazillion percent (okay, more like 80) off. They're crazy, but I still believe they're a little conservative? At least for me they are!

Each single piece I'm wearing was under $30 each. I'm starting to get the appeal of this whole bargain shopping phenomenon.
