Petals and Peacocks Beanies

Petals and Peacocks is all up on my head. They sent me these super rad new beanies because... BEANIES! Gloriously slouchy knit hats with funky designs. Come on, if you've seen my blog, you know I am addicted to beanies.

They sent me the ultimate goodie package with the beanies they'll be rolling out with very soon. (So pssst, keep an eye out for them in the shop)

Thank you for the hookup, Petals and Peacocks! <3

And if you have a lot of hair, or a big head (like me), these beanies will fit you! Haha, my head is so big that I usually can't wear normal hats or headbands.

Tunnel Vision Vintage Tee

These photos make me feel as though I discovered Photoshop for the first time and just want to use all of the effects at once. It's like when I got a trial version of Paint Shop Pro ten years ago and added high contrast filters to everything. Yikes.

Whatever! I don't care if it looks super duper hipster because galaxy filters are awesome. Look Ma, I discovered layers.

But in all seriousness, I love this vintage tee from Tunnel Vision. It's truly a tale of love at first site. A beat up shirt with a Filipino historical figure? You don't even have to ask me twice. I love the ladies who created Tunnel Vision and will continue to shop there forever and ever.

And yes, those are obnoxiously fuzzy pink headphones. Don't even ask.

Dimepiece Ain't No Wifey

I scored big during the Dimpiece Designs big Black Friday sale. Though I was a little late to the party, five super badass pieces arrived on my doorstep a couple days later.

Dimepiece is getting a ton of attention with the Ain't No Wifey motto. And damn, I couldn't be happier that this company keeps growing and busting out more amazing quality tees, dresses and cool stuff I just drool over and then finally cave in and buy. This sounds like a paid endorsement, but I swear it's not. I just love the girl power behind this brand.

I felt brave enough to go to the MAC counter today amidst the holiday crowds. Finally, and seriously, finally, I picked up the Cyber lipstick. Per the makeup artist's recommendation, I nabbed a lip liner in Nightmoth to prolong the color saturation. Holy hell, I forgot how awkward it is to use a lipliner. Five Q-tips later and there was some semblance of a straight line. Yikes.

It's a little darker than I anticipated, but every now and then, Mall Goth Beth has to reemerge from the shadows of Hot Topic.

And yes, I do have a tattoo on my chest under my boobies.

Life of Excess

This black fur coat is something of a mystery. I asked my beau to buy it for me last Valentine's Day. It looked amazing in the photographs. The vintage seller told me she had discovered a receipt still in the pocket from the 1970's. I bet this coat has been places. This coat has probably partied pretty hard.

When I pulled it out of the box, I was somewhat disappointed. It reminded me a little of a gorilla costume, but it photographs amazingly. It probably needs a good brushing and some TLC. Who knows? Maybe this baby was meant to be worn in dark clubs and during 3 a.m. strolls. I'll get working on that.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway! It ends on the 30th, babes.

Shopbop Giveaway - Shopbop Blog 'n More!

Wee! It's been a while since I hosted a giveaway, and I'm pretty stoked to be working with Shopbop. They're giving away a $100 gift code!

Did you know that Shopbop is located in Wisconsin? Just a reminder that I am too, so it's pretty amazing there's such a fashion giant so close to me.

I seriously cannot gush about Shopbop enough. Their shipping is incredibly fast and free. So those midnight shopping sprees are well justified, right? And if you ever freak out and need to return something... yup, you guessed it, free returns. Holy fashion.

Now I know everyone is expecting me to write about Alexander Wang or T by Alexander Wang, but Shopbop carries a ton of brands, so I can't just center on my Wang obsession.

Shopbop has Chaser rock tees. Oh, how I love thee, Chaser. I accidentally got addicted to Chaser tees since they're crazy soft and have that vintage tour shirt feel to 'em. Okay, well, I claim "accidentally" - but I'm sure everyone knows better than that.

Since it's getting cold out, I can't get away with just wearing a t-shirt, but luckily, Shopbop has a crazy amount of killer coats.

Here are some of my favs:

Casually cool. Seriously, that collar is insane.

Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent coats

You had me at tailcoat.

Rag & Bone coats

Pretty much the classiest coat ever.

Halston Heritage jackets

One of my other favorite things about Shopbop is the Shopbop Blog. Beauty tips, styling ideas and heck, even a music playlist from the Shopbop studio is featured.

Okay, so let's get to the giveaway! Enter to win a $100 Shopbop gift code! A winner will be chosen at random.

It's my first time using this widget, so bear with me. You get extra points for being a follower of my blog either on Google/Blogger or Bloglovin. If you encounter any technical issues, please leave a comment. I know some people have trouble finding the button where they can follow me. Bloglovin's button is on the right side of my blog. The Google button is at the top!

This contest ends 11/30/12 at midnight EST!

Giveaway is over!

Petals and Peacocks

"Oh god, that is so you."

That phrase is music to any fashion freak's ears. This is exactly what happened when I opened my package from Petals and Peacocks. Amazingly soft graphic tees with just the right amount of rock 'n roll flavor. Did I mention there's the perfect addition of destroyed detail? I swoon! I freaking swoon.

I'm such a sucker for cheeky graphic tees, and Petals and Peacocks has this down to an art. Plus, the material is that awesome balance of soft-as-vintage and I stole this from my boyfriend's closet, silly me.

Yay, stickers!

Here's a closeup of the destroyed detail. It's on the collar, sleeves and hem.

Did I mention this seasons's collection comes in black, white and grey? Yum.

Check 'em out on Facebook too. They update when they have sales (did someone say sale?!) and new products. Super sweet company!

Rock 'N Roll Child

Before the blonde took hold, my fella and I took a few shots to go with an article I was writing for Feminspire.

Check out my sidecut article- Why I Shaved Half My Head to Fight the Good Fight on Feminspire now. The site is growing so quickly!

Behold, two badass photos that didn't make the cut.

My thoughts go out to everyone who is affected by Sandy. That has got to be terrifying. Stay strong and safe, everyone.

Black to Blonde Hair

Hey ohhh!

Just a little preview of things happening on top of my head.

It's even lighter and a little bit blonder in real life. The flash makes it look a little darker.

My stylist is a miracle worker!

More UNIF once again. No surprise there, right?

I simply could not resist snagging some UNIF at more than 60% off. God, I love me some beat up muscle tanks.

My beau took the wheel, er shutter, behind the camera for these photos.

Just some quickies before heading out to a late dins.

I'm still without any image editing software, so eep. That situation will be remedied very soon.

Nevermind Sweater 'n Piling It All on

So last week I had a day where I was paralyzed by indecision. It was one of those times when I wanted to wear a whole slew of items that didn't really ~go together~ (Yikes, broke out the tildes).

But then I had an epiphany and thought, "Why not just wear everything I want all at once regardless of whether it all fits together?" And so, I did.

Even though the sweater is a little boxy, and the skirt is a tad short, I don't regret a thing -- not enough the tie dye headscarf I wrapped into a bow.

Lesson the day? When in doubt, wear it out. I'm sure this attitude will come back to haunt me one of these times.

(Please excuse the slight grain to the photos. Took 'em on my phone.)

Love Nail Tree Tee

Snagged this tee from the $10 bin at the Love Nail Tree tent during the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair. Don't you love it when you physically have to dig through piles of stuff to get what you want? Dare I say there's something primal about it?

The vest was a gift from my fella after we mulled over whether to invest (hey-oh!) in a Drop Dead denim piece (for around $100) -- yikes!

We ended up agreeing that this Iron Fist goodie was even more badass than what Drop Dead had to offer.

Photo cred goes to Zack. Hey buddy, you're getting better!
And Laur, pawfect editing.

Stylestalker Courtney Love Dress

It's weird -- this Stylestalker dress didn't catch my eye when I first saw it. It was one of those things that I thought was cool looking, but I think the price deterred me from falling in love with it.

Cut to a few weeks ago, and I'm suddenly obsessed with it. Plus, it was on sale. *cue fashion dance* The slightly androgynous fit, the raw hem, bleached/tie dye treatment and let's not forget the rose gold studs that fully function as buttons.

It was a few days of back and forth with Mr. Shopping Cart, but I'm so stoked I took the plunge. This isn't your average flannel dress. It's crazy soft and durable with a layer on the inside, so I'm not flashing the world.

So ready to rock this baby with ankle booties or knee-high lace-up boots!

Thank you, Lauren, for the photos. <3 stylestalker-dress
